Nick Ahad

Nick's full-length play Glory, produced by the Dukes Theatre with Red Ladder & London Asian theatre company, Tamasha, has had 4-star reviews and is touring UK-wide Feb-April. The Chef Show (Ragged Edge Productions) is on its 3rd nationwide tour, having won Stage Performance of the Year in the 2nd Annual Rural Touring Awards 2018. His musical Redcoats is commissioned by The Mikron Theatre and will be touring May-Oct. Nick is also writing a full-length comedy drama commissioned by The Leeds Playhouse, slated to be produced in 2020. Commemorating the 70th anniversary of the partition of India, Nick's Partition was recorded for BBC Radio Leeds and adapted for the stage, premiering at Leeds Playhouse, returning to the theatre Autumn 2018, before a major schools tour.

In TV Nick has written & storylined Emmerdale; he is also one of the BBC's Four Northern Voices, in development with his original TV script.

As trainee theatre director with Tamasha his debut Nor Any Drop was produced by Peshkar and Red Ladder; he wrote/directed A Muslamic Love Story, premiering at Bradford's Theatre In The Mill. Arts editor of the Yorkshire Post for 10 years, Nick is a journalist/theatre critic, and regular presenter for BBC Radio Leeds.
