Nick Ahad

Nick has created The Chef Show (Ragged Edge Productions) set in an 'Indian' restaurant in the rural North West, a unique blend of exotic spices and family values in the 'modern' age.

A writer for Theatre and TV, Nick has written & storylined Emmerdale. Selected as one of the BBC's Four Northern Voices, he was paired with mentor Lisa Holdsworth and funded to spend 12 months developing an original TV script.

Nick trained as a theatre director with London-based, Asian theatre company Tamasha (East is East). His debut stage play Nor Any Drop, produced by Oldham Theatre company Peshkar and Leeds theatre company Red Ladder, toured in the NW; and with his own company WhereYouFrom he wrote/directed A Muslamic Love Story, premiered at Bradford's Theatre In The Mill - a sell-out in the following year. He has written and directed five short films which have been shown at festivals around the UK.

Arts editor of the Yorkshire Post for 10 years, Nick continues as a journalist and a theatre critic, regularly presenting shows for BBC Radio Leeds.
