Nick Ahad

Commemorating the 70th anniversary of the partition of India, Nick's audio drama Partition was performed on Radio Leeds and returns to the Leeds Playhouse, culminating in a major tour of schools. Nick is working on a full-length commission from the Leeds Playhouse, and has Glory in production at The Dukes, Lancaster; also writing a play for the Mikron Theatre. The Chef Show (Ragged Edge Productions) created by Nick (set in an 'Indian' restaurant in the rural North West) was on national tour this year and won Stage Performance of the Year.

In TV Nick has written & storylined Emmerdale; and was selected as one of the BBC's Four Northern Voices, spending 12 months developing an original TV script.

As a theatre director with London Asian theatre company Tamasha (East is East) his debut stage play Nor Any Drop was produced by Oldham Theatre company Peshkar and Leeds theatre company Red Ladder; he wrote/directed A Muslamic Love Story, premiering at Bradford's Theatre In The Mill.

Arts editor of the Yorkshire Post for 10 years, Nick continues as a journalist/theatre critic, regularly presenting shows for BBC Radio Leeds.
