Tara Byrne
Tara has written over 80 hours of television, published a book, written several more and completed a short film. Her one hour feel-good drama The Camp/Greenham was recently shortlisted by The Writer’s Lab. Her half-hour Comedy, Head reached the finals of The Writers' Lab UK & Ireland as well as the SKY comedy shortlist. She was inspired to become a writer at 13 when penning a comedy version of Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs for a school production. The ensuing collaborative process became the most addictive aspect for Tara and she moved onto shows such as Grange Hill, Hollyoaks and Hollyoaks Later, for which she has received numerous commissions. One of her episodes was recently reprised on Hollyoaks Favourites.
Tara is currently developing a 6-part series with Producer, Helen Ostler. Her other projects are hard-hitting 1-hour pilot, Dolls, and her YA hour-long series The UnGone; also a thriller series The Lab.
In her student days Tara won the Lloyds Bank/C4 Film Challenge with short film Balloons - earning a small West End screening, going on to be shown at International Festivals.
